Dear Colleagues:

We are delighted to announce that the XVI International Congress of Acarology (ICA) will be held in Auckland, New Zealand from 1 to 5 December 2022. Registration is now open and the discounted Early Bird registration will be available until 31 August 2022. See more information here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/registration/

New Zealand, known for its clean and green image, ranks among the most sought-after destinations, boasting snow-capped mountains, ancient glaciers, rolling hills, beautiful sand beaches, and premium wine. Auckland is New Zealand’s gateway and economic hub. See more information about Auckland and New Zealand here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/general-travel-info/

The congress venue is Sir Owen G Glenn Building, The University of Auckland, which occupies a prominent and convenient position in the heart of the city. We arranged discounted rates for regular hotels as well as low-cost University accommodation. See more information here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/venue/

The theme of ICA22 is “Acarological Frontiers”. We wish to bring together colleagues from different parts of the world to discuss our common challenges, to present the most recent findings, and to keep abreast of the latest developments in acarological research. We plan to invite several keynote speakers to provide topical overviews. There will be regular sessions, themed symposia and special workshops/programmes for oral presentations and posters by delegates throughout the five-day programme. In addition, there will be a mid-Congress half-day technical tour.

Please address any questions about registration, letters of invitation and other non-science matters to liina.neeme@auckland.ac.nz. Proposals for organising a symposium or special workshop/programme are very welcome and should be submitted to ZhangZ@landcareresearch.co.nz by 30 June 2022. Please include the title, names and emails of at least two coordinators, and the title and names of speakers of at least 3 presentations.

The congress proceedings will be published in the series Zoosymposia. 31 August 2022 is the last day for submission of full articles or abstracts for proceedings. See more information here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/Proceedings/

We would appreciate your forwarding this circular to colleagues who might be interested in attending ICA2022. We are looking forward to welcoming you all in December 2022 in Auckland!

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee
