Dear colleagues:

The XVI International Congress of Acarology (ICA) will be held in Sir Owen G Glenn Building, The University of Auckland, New Zealand from 1 to 5 December 2022. Please note that the discounted Early Bird registration will be available until 31 August 2022. See more information here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/registration/

We are pleased to confirm several keynote speakers as well as five themed symposia in addition to ten regular sections (https://ica2022.acarology.org/our-schedule/). Proposals for additional symposium or special workshop/programme are very welcome and should be sent to ZhangZ@landcareresearch.co.nz by 31 July 2022. Please include the title of the symposium/workshop, the names, and emails of at least two organizers, and the title and names of speakers of at least 3 presentations.

We are pleased to announce that ICA2022 will award several Student Grants to assist with the registration and/or accommodation costs. The former will provide a waiver of full registration fee, whereas the latter will provide student accommodation for five days at the costs of ICA organizers (checking in on 30 Nov. and checking out on 5 Dec 2022). Grants will be awarded, on a competitive basis, to students from whom abstracts have been accepted for presentation. Each application will be judged on the excellence of the work being presented in a talk or poster. It is expected that the Student Grant recipient will attend the full conference. Applicants need to provide a brief research statement and a letter of support from the applicant’s supervisor. Applications must be received by the secretary of the Local Organizing Committee (m.a.minor@massey.ac.nz) by 31 July 2022. More information about this award can be found here: https://ica2022.acarology.org/awards/

We are looking forward to welcoming you all in December 2022 in Auckland!

On behalf of the Local Organizing Committee

Prof Zhi-Qiang Zhang
